 Cronaca della vita parigina di un piccolo gruppo di amici dal 1995 ad oggi, Le Traité... racconta del modo in cui affrontano la sieropositività e l'ammalarsi di uno di loro, fortunatamente assistito dai nuovi trattamenti antivirali. Tutti i personaggi sperimentano gli stessi problemi ma ognuno a suo modo, in base al rapporto con il proprio corpo e la sua storia."La base del film è l'evento dell'AIDS tra i miei contemporanei, quelli della mia generazione e di quelle successive. L'evento della malattia e della morte, il terrore di essa ma anche il fatto che ho vissuto attraverso questo terrore con una sorta di meraviglia, sebbene possa sembrare mostruoso parlarne in questi termini. Ho vissuto attraverso quegli anni in uno strano miscuglio di felicità e sfortuna, quando la sfortuna, a volte, era felicità.  Questo è un film sui froci. Preferisco questa parola a 'omosessuale'. E' una parola che ho sentito quando ero piccolo, con cui mi chiamavano quando avevo circa sette anni. E quando vieni chiamato così nel campo giochi della scuola, non è una questione di omosessualità ma della tua unicità. Significa escluderti dalla 'comunità', dalla tribù primitiva, in altre parole significa essere soli. Molti della mia generazione, sicuramente io, hanno vissuto questa esclusione come se fossimo parte di un gruppo di pochi eletti: essere omosessuali era a suo modo essere 'meglio degli altri' perché tutti pensavano che eravamo peggio degli altri." Patrick Mimouni Chronicle of the life of a small group of friends in Paris between 1995 and today, Le Traité... tells the way in which they cope with being HIV-positive and the development of the illness of one of them, luckily helped by the new tri-therapeutic treatment. All these characters experience the same problems, but each in their own way as they have their own body and personal past with their body. "The basis of the film is the 'event' of AIDS among my contemporaries, those of my generation and following generations. The 'event' of illness and death, the terror of it but also the fact that I've lived through this terror with a sort of wonder, even if it might seem montrous to talk in such terms. I lived through those years in a strange mixture of happiness and misfortune, when the misfortune, at times, was happiness. This is a film about faggots. I'd rather use this word instead of 'homosexual'. It's a word I heard very young, I was called that when I was about seven. And when you get called that at seven in a school playground, it's not a matter of homosexuality but of your uniqueness. It means excluding yourself from the 'community', from the primitive tribe. For many people of my generation, being homosexual was in its way 'being better than the rest' because everybody thought we were worse than the rest. And many of us, especially me, lived through this exclusion as if we were part of a select few..." Patrick Mimouni |
