Una settimana d'estate del 1997 in Italia. Giovani gay e lesbiche da tutto il mondo si incontrano ad una conferenza su 'Omofobia e Fascismo'. Ma come sono le loro vite? Confrontando la loro storia personale con la persecuzione di lesbiche e gay da parte della Germania nazista e di altri regimi fascisti, scoprono differenze e similitudini. Alcuni di questi ragazzi sono sereni e visibili, altri sono isolati e vivono in Internet alla ricerca di una specie di comunità. Con contributi da Argentina, Bielorussia, Bulgaria, Belgio, Australia, Italia, Gran Bretagna, Germania, Francia e Olanda, Just happy the way I am descrive questi giovani gay e lesbiche attraverso le loro stesse parole. A hot summer week in 1997, Italy. Young gays and lesbians from all over the world meet at a conference on 'Homophobia and Fascism'. But how do they live their own lives? They confront their personal history with the persecution of lesbians and gay men by Nazi Germany and other fascist regimes, discovering differences and similarities. Some of them are out and proud, some others are isolated and live on the net to find some kind of community. With people from Argentina, Belorus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Australia, Italy, UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands, Just happy the way I am portrays lesbian girls and gay boys with their own words. |
